This is my page for music! I hope to upload some of my own songs here in the future. For now, I'll use it as a space to promote some not-so-well-known artists that I love! All of these artists are active and have fewer than (or just-over) 50k listeners on Spotify. So if any WHRBies are reading this, they're all RH-eligible!
Dinner Time is one of my overall-favorite bands, and their retro site design partially inspired the project of this blog! "What's the Deal" is a great twangy funk-rock jam, and the rest of the Halfway Down album is definitely worth a listen. They regularly perform live in the Atlanta area, and it's definitely worth checking them out!
Housecall is a cool indie group out of Dallas. "Mystery Girl" is an all-around hit, and they've released a few versions of that track!
Pretoria performs indie rock out of Grand Rapids, MI. I keep "Roller Derby" on repeat, though "Gently" and "Expert" were the songs that initially drew me in.
Cannibal Kids are a rockin' indie group from South Florida. "I Will Always Love You" and "Troubled Mind" are my favorite hits, I keep them on rotation regularly.
Tomtsu is a Boston-based (woo!) indie-rock band making cool jams! "Tongue Tied" (no relation to the Grouplove hit) is my favorite song of theirs.
Still Pigeon is a London-based chill-rock band with a smooth funk sound. "Crocodile Tears" is a fun one, and the band collaborates with some other great indie UK acts.
NONEWFRIENDS (which doesn't have a site I could find) is a NYC-based band originally formed at Syracuse University making indie rock and R&B hits. "Love Me" and "The Hook" are my favorites!
Cap'n Marble is an LA-based act with an awesome classic rock retro sound. "Song for Ella" is my favorite!
Louie Short is a Toronto artist who honestly evades description. His song "Beautality" is simply a masterpiece, though he also has some more experimental songs and recently has been releasing music with a great folk atmosphere.
Soft Glas is an LA-based artist making indie and lo-fi type chill music. "Perks of Being a Sunflower" is my favorite, and there's some great bossa nova vibes on the Orange Earth album.
